Back again on my blog and on this occasion, I would like to share my review of "Guruku Mr. D" Youtube channel.

Dennis, a man from the United States, whose nickname is Mr. D, is actively teaching how to learn English properly in a fun way. Through the @gurukumrd Instagram account you can see Dennis teaching English through creative videos.

Dennis or commonly called Mr. D admitted that at first he didn't think he would be able to stay long enough. Until now, Mr.D has lived in Indonesia for approximately 6 years. At first, Mr.D planned to only stay in Indonesia for a few months. But unexpectedly, Mr.D felt very happy and comfortable living in Indonesia.

Now, technology has advanced. Only by using gadgets, we can access our own dictionaries via cell phones. We can download the dictionary application which is available in the Playstore/App store. But not only through the application we can learn English, now there are many ways that we can access to learn English easily, namely through various sites and I will recommend a youtube channel that is good and easy to learn, namely "Guruku Pak D" youtube channel which is very useful for all of us who want to learn English.

Besides Instagram, Mr.D also has a YouTube channel and Twitter account with the same name, namely gurukumrd. For his own Instagram account, Mr.D already has 1.4 million followers, while Youtube already has more than 200,000 subscribers and Twitter around 7,000 followers.

Mr. Dennis, actively uploads videos containing funny English teaching materials. I think he teaches English in a fun way. By teaching English through popular songs, and movies that are currently trending. You don't have to be afraid if you don't understand. He also often chooses teaching materials that are close to everyday life so that later it can be easier to understand for the audience. The explanations are easy to understand though but sometimes still not fluent in speaking the language. Mr. D is one who has succeeded in providing a way of learning English in a practical and easy-to-understand way.

In this blog I will review a learning game for small children, namely Lingokids.

What is Lingokids?

Lingokids is a tool for young kids to begin learning English through a mixture of videos, songs, and activities. Kids interact with thousands of vocabulary words that form the foundation for learning a new language. In addition to lots of songs and animations, original content features live-action video of teachers introducing new categories such as animals, colors, and numbers. Games ask kids to interact with new vocabulary words. There are six levels of complexity, which get presented automatically based on kids' previous performance. 

Lingokids is continuously developed by experts in early childhood learning and has also been certified by Oxford University Press, so it offers children the best learning experience with the right category selection.

This app is designed for early childhood education and offers a safe learning environment, free from distractions and ads, and in content tailored to their age and level of English.

The features and advantages of this application are:

1. Number

    Learn numbers in English and their pronunciation.

2. Alphabet

    A writing and grammar game that aims to teach the sound, pronunciation, phonetics, and         intonation of words when speaking and how to write them in English.

3. Color

    Learn how to write and pronounce colors.

4. Form

    Explains and helps memorize geometric shapes.

5. Animals

    Spell and pronounce all kinds of different animals.

6. Food

    Vocabulary and phrases related to fruits, vegetables, utensils and cooking verbs.

My Reviews

In my opinion, through this Lingokids application children can learn English in a fun way. There are also educational games in it that make children not get bored quickly. Lots of fun material and kids can freely explore various activities. When children complete an activity, they are given a small 'sticker' that motivates and also helps keep track of where they are. In addition they have clear and slow audio instructions and all words are written and spoken making them ideal for children learning English, who will enjoy playing but will also learn and integrate new vocabulary at the same time.

The Lingokids application also has a youtube channel, namely Lingkids Song and Playlearning to make children more interested in learning while singing and expressing their learning through videos on the Lingokids channel.

In this blog, I will share about the educandy platform that I have learned and some points that I know about this platform.

What is Educandy?

Educandy is a website that allows teachers to quickly and easily build simple games for students to practice vocabulary and answer basic questions about content. The site offers eight types of games ranging from crossword puzzles to multiple-choice quizzes. Teachers can manually enter word lists (or similar straightforward content) or upload data files to make games. Once the basic data is in, creating games takes no time at all, and the games can then be shared with students by a link to be played on any device or embedded into websites. Educandy offers apps for iOS, Android, and Microsoft for play on mobile devices as well. 

How to get started games on Educandy?

To get started on Educandyyou must create an account on the site. Once you have created an account, First you must register with your e-mail and the password, after that you can playing some games or make a games with it. Or you can play as a guest if you don't have an e-mail. Log in and select the option to create a vocabulary word list, matched word pairs, or a list of quiz questions. After you create a list, Educandy will automatically create a game or series of games that will be playable. If you create a vocabulary word list or a word list in pairs, game options will include memory, hangman, word search, and crossword puzzles. If you write quiz questions, the game will be a simple quiz game.

Once your game is created on Educandy it will appear in your account under "my activity." From there you can select your game and find the code. Then you can later use that code to play your games on Educandy.com without creating another account on the site. You will also find embed code that can be used to place games on your own website.

In my opinion, I think this application is very interesting and very easy to use, students will also be more enthusiastic in following lessons if they use the right and interesting methods and this website is also combined for learning and playing which makes us not bored while studying. Then this website makes us free to be creative, because we can make your own questions and answers, after that you can copy the link and share it with others. There are many games that you can play in this educandy.
